A note about our 1/4" scale project kits Our Grand Little Project kits are designed to teach you how to use Grandt Line components--how to cut, glue and "scratch-build" items out of our parts. Hopefully, you will become enchanted with the fun of working in 1/4" scale and think up projects of your own. Many projects are designed with the idea that you can finish it in an evening or afternoon. Some require more time. All items necessary to complete the projects are included in our kits, except for paints and glues. Instructions are detailed and easy to follow, and photograph is included for reference.
Kit # 3451 Aunt Martha's Window $12.50: We have designed this project (a basic interior which fits into a 3-1/2" dome) for those who want to "do their own thing". The kit includes styrene pieces to form the floor, wall, window and window box. We also include spring foliage for the window box and wall paper for the interior. The project can be modeled with an emphasis on the interior or the exterior space, depending on which way the wall is positioned on the floor boards. Kit #3452 Aunt Martha's Christmas $17.50: This kit focuses on the interior space of the dome room with contemporary Christmas decor. Kit #3453 Clampett's Country Store $24.95: This is a country antique store, complete with antique glass in the window and a cigar store Indian with assorted collectibles on the porch. Kit #3454 Wanda's Place: Halloween Night $31.95: This is a spooky front porch scene. You will replace the window from the basic kit with a double door, after removing the portion of the wall below the window opening. Kit #3456 Dr. and Mrs. Danforth: A Garden Wedding $31.95: The Dr. and his new Missus are posing for photos in the garden gazebo. This project will give you a good lesson in "scratch-building" on a project that is not too involved. The Dr. and his new wife are included in the kit. Kit #3459 Plain Gazebo Kit $17.95: No decor with this one, just the basic gazebo as seen in the Wedding. Kit #3455 Dr. and Mrs. Danforth: A Victorian Christmas $30.95: This is a front porch scene with a covered Victorian entry-way. The Danforth's are just stepping out to attend a dinner party. Kit #3457 Bomberger's Deli: Fall Cleanup $31.95: The Deli is first in a series of storefront dome projects. Mr. Bomberger is out in front, sweeping up the fall leaves at his deli doorstep. Super details include sausages, breads and a "rubber" chicken to hang in the window. Kit #3458 Kringle's Christmas Shoppe $34.95: Second in the storefront series, Kringle's is decked out for the holidays and Mrs. Danforth is out window shopping. Great details on this one! Kit #3460 Jax and Jill's Toy Shop $31.95: Third in the storefront series, this one has Mrs. Danforth out with her baby carriage, looking over an abundance of toys. There is even a tiny dollhouse inside! Kit #3459 The Forget Me Not Flower Shop $31.95: Fourth in the storefront series, Dr. Danforth can be found checking out the posies (maybe he and the Missus had a bit of a squable???) . Again, great details....even a flying crow birdhouse and a bunch of tiny little flower pots. Kit #3450 Glass Dome with Wood Base for Dome Projects $14.95: This high quality display dome is 3" x 4-1/4" and comes with a walnut base which is 3" diameter. All of our dome projects are designed to fit in this dome.
This series was inspired by a trip to St. Charles, MO--a town full of little brick shops with a great deal of character. Our buildings are designed using boxes from your grocery store--after the contents have been removed, of course. To add a bit of whimsy, we concentrate only on the front of the box, leaving the sides and back labels intact. You will need to purchase the boxes, paints and glue, but all other materials are supplied. Each kit includes wall paper and color graphics to decorate the inside of your shop. Once finished, these buldings are just begging to sit on your bookshelf--all in a row! Note: We have coded these projects "Beg" for Beginner, "Int" for Intermediate and "Adv" for Advanced to help you select projects in your comfort zone. #3406 Maudie's Muffins $14.50: Maudie's place is based on a Jiffy Muffin Mix® box (3" x 5-1/2" x 1-5/8"). It is the easiest of the projects and can be completed easily in an evening. To give the building a finished look, we have included interior wallpapers, flooring and a backdrop of Maudie selling her wares. (Beg) #3401 Firehouse #.025 $13.95: Includes all you need in order to make a light-hearted fire station out of a Diamond Kitchen Match® box. Arched windows, a lamp over the doorway and a bell on top of the building give the project character. (Int) #3405 Tillie's Teapot $17.50: The tea shop is designed with a Lipton® or Red Rose ® Tea box (5-5/8" x 5-1/2 "x 2"). It has wrought iron fencing in front of the windows, striped awnings, an ovel door and dormer window. (Int) #3404 Betty's Bake-a-Teria $14.50: Betty's is based on a Jiffy Muffin Mix® box (3" x 5-1/2" x 1-5/8"). The Bake-a-Teria has shuttered windows and double door entry. there is a lamp hanging over the front door and a sculpted bagel sign to hang from the wall. (Int) #3403 Charlotte's Sugar Shoppe $19.95: The Sugar Shoppe is designed with a 3-3/4" x 6-1/2" x 1-1/2" sugar box (we used C&G Granulated Sugar®, but other brands will work if the size is right). The shop sports an upstairs porch and gabled window, as well as a typical storefront entry. (Int) 3409: Uncle Pete's Pet Palace $17.50: Designed using a Milkbone Dog Treats® box (5" w x 6-1/4" h x 1-3/4" deep). This shop has a large storefront window and an inset front door. There are cut-out animals to set in the window area, (they're looking for a home), as well as great signage and a bulletin board with little notices to post. Inside is a blackboard with Uncle Pete's specials. (Int) #3408: Billy Bob's Barber Shop $15.50: This is a corner unit, built with an Old Spice After Shave® box (2-1/2"w x 5-1/2" h x 2-1/2" deep). Billy Bob's has windows on two walls, a barber pole, awning and brick cornice for the roof. Billy Bob is looking for someone to rent the upstairs room, but he's off fishing with his pal Pete--so you'll have to catch him later. (Int) #3410 Marv's Movie Mansion $34.10: This is constructed with a Pop Secret® popcorn box . The kids are attending a matinee of "Bug on a Hot Tin Roof". Posters on the walls promote this and "Antie Mame." This has great graphics, including lots of kids to stand in the lobby. The sign even has little "lights" surrounding it. #3411 The Colonel's Toy Wagon $16.50: This is made from a Nabisco® Animal Crackers box. The posters, interior window treatment, circus wagon wheels and the little steps up to the door give this kit lots of character.
#3412 Gramps' Workshop $32.95: gramps' place is a bit easier to put together than Granny's. The building is constructed from a Grandt Line building kit, with pre-formed walls, floor and roof. Gramps is really into birdhouses and his work is prominently displayed around his yard. While his part of the yard is not as neat as Granny's, it is full of fun details--a collection of old wheels hanging on the wall, five birdhouses of various shapes sitting on poles, a barrel with a board on top where he has been painting one of the birdhouses, several brds to perch around the place, a "bird houses 4 sale" sign to place outside the rickety fence and a cat checking out the whole scenario. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
